Burnsview Children's Ministry Overview
Awana starts and ends each night by meeting in the youth sanctuary from 6:30-8:00 pm on Wednesdays each week. We run from September to May and usually take breaks following the public-school schedule. We welcome children of all ages to start at any time throughout the year.

Each week our teachers prepare engaging lessons and activities which focus on specific scriptures from the Bible. The students take turns reading the scripture followed by enlightening discussions with questions and answers. The class shares fun facts about their week, what is going on in school, and how to handle difficult situations. Class closes with a group prayer where each child lifts up their own personal prayer requests.
What IS TeamKid and Its Purpose?
TeamKid focuses on character traits that God wants children to develop. Each week’s plans will focus on a different trait that will help children develop Christian character.
TeamKid is a fun, high-energy ministry that encourages kids to know Jesus Christ and to grow in a relationship with Him. All parts of TeamKid—Bible lesson, life application, missions, and recreation—connect to teach life lessons to kids. TeamKid is designed for children in grades 1-5. The material is written so children can be together in one club worshipping corporately—boys and girls.
What is a typical TeamKid schedule?
10 Mins—Warm Up (Get Involved Activity).
20 Mins—Workout (Group Bible Study).
10 Mins—Reach Out (Missions Emphasis Time).
20 Minutes—The Tournament (Games and Rec).
When and Where do we meet?
Kids should be dropped off and picked up in the gym each Sunday Night. TeamKid starts at 6:00 and ends at 7:00 but parents can drop off before church starts at 5:45 and after.
Who will be teaching my child?
As always, we have some of the best teachers around and people who have prayed for and love each student that comes each week. TeamKid consists of three nightly teachers that will rotate on a three-week schedule.
